JAMESTOWN – Brandon M. Tate, 19, of 846 Prendergast Ave., faces multiple charged after allegedly kicking, strangling and abusing a woman at his home Wednesday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Police responded to the home at 7 a.m. and found a woman covered with joint-compound sitting on the porch. Tate was seen in the second-floor apartment and was ordered to exit the apartment, which police said he did without incident. Police said the victim reported the fight with her boyfriend after he couldn’t find his personal hygiene supplies.

She told officers that Tate began damaging the apartment and threw her car keys in the toilet. He then, according to police, held the woman down with his foot and took her cell phone as she attempted to call for help. Tate then punched her several times, including at least once in the head. Once she regained her feet, Tate dumped a five-gallon bucket of joint-compound on her, according to police. He then choked her until she lost consciousness, police said.

A criminal history check revealed that Tate was convicted for a domestic incident this summer. He was charged with second-degree Unlawful Imprisonment, petit larceny, third-degree Assault, third-degree Criminal Tampering, two counts of fourth-degree Criminal Mischief, Aggravated Criminal Attempt, second-degree Strangulation, Aggravated Family Offense.
