WPXI Pittsburgh, PA

CORRECTION: Our original report indicated the story occurred in “Bridgeport” rather than Bridgeville. We regret the error.

BRIDGEVILLE- A  Pennsylvania mother accused of selling heroin to a man who ended up dying turned herself into police after the chief begged her on Facebook to end her run from the law.

Latoya Rosiek allegedly sold a fatal dose of what she advertised as heroin, but turned out to be fentanyl  that led to Michael DeSanto’s death.

The social media plea by police went viral, being seen or shared nearly three million times.

“Yes, it was pretty apparent her world was shrinking around her,” said Bridgeport Police Chief Chad King

“I have known you since you were a teenager in Bridgeville. Let’s end this foolishness – do the right thing and turn yourself in.”

The chief added because of social media, police also found out where Rosiek and her boyfriend were staying, and were about to move in.

Rosiek’s attorney reportedly convinced her to turn herself in.

    • I’m glad you brought this to our attention. We issued a correction. I happen to have family scattered throughout Western PA, and it appears to me that Bridgeville is a pretty neat area. Thanks for your support.
