Man Arrested In Gerry Hostage Situation Remanded To County Jail On $50,000 Bail


GERRY – Thirty-three-year-old Richard Sendall, the man arrested in Saturday morning’s hostage situation, was remanded to County Jail Tuesday on $50,000 cash/$100,000 property bond according to the County Sheriff’s website.   

State Police say a 31-year-old female reported a domestic violence incident at her Wilson Street residence around 9:30 am. The woman told troopers that she was held against her will at gunpoint with two young children in the residence per the report.

State Police responded to the address, and took Sendall into custody peacefully after surrendering. Loaded firearms were seized from the Sendall residence according to State Police.

The young children were located in good health.

Sendall faces charges of 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon, 2nd degree assault, 2nd degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.
