Monday Sunshine and Tuesday Rain Leads To a Windy Wednesday

High Wind Watch going into effect early Wednesday morning, lasting through Wednesday evening for much of WNY.

JAMESTOWN – Some nice sunshine has been greeting the region today with slightly warmer temperatures than Sunday.

However, it looks to become windy, once again, by mid week.

The National Weather Service has reissued the High Wind Watch for Chautauqua, Erie Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Monroe, and Wyoming Counties, going into effect Wednesday morning at 2:00 AM, and running through 8:00 PM Wednesday evening for wind gusts 60 MPH+.

A strong Cold front will cross through the region late Tuesday night, into early Wednesday morning.

As the front moves towards the East, the west to northwest wind flow around the Low will drag colder air into the region, and elevate the winds throughout the day.

We’ll also be dealing with rain showers and a possible thundershower on Wednesday on well.

Behind all of this, the weather falls down a cliff for the remainder of the week.

Rain and snow showers are possible Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

It also will become breezy again on Friday, but the winds, at this point, do not look to be as strong as Wednesday.

We were talking about how the first half of April could very well be colder than average, and that looks to be the case.

I do not expect to see 50s or 60s anytime over the next two weeks…
