The Monday Muggies Have Returned; More Widespread Rain Tuesday

Quick Solutions 7 Day Forecast

JAMESTOWN – It’s the “air you can wear!” A very warm and muggy Monday is on tap for Western New York.

As is the case with kind of air mass, we do have to play the “thunderstorm lottery.” You know how this game is played; these showers and storms will form throughout the afternoon in random nature. These storms will not last long, they will just rain themselves out.

There is an Air Quality Alert in effect for much fo Western New York until 11:00 PM this evening for higher levels of ozone. If you have asthma or you are particularly sensitive to pollutions, just take it easy out there this afternoon.

Air Quality Alert in effect until 11 PM; Heat Advisory north and east until 6 PM.

The better chance of rain will come tomorrow, as a front will move across the region through the day. The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has outlined all of Western New York under a less than average Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. The main threat will be from stronger wind gusts.

SPC Convective Outlook Day 2

As we look ahead, longer-range computer guidance is suggesting summertime heat will be with us through the middle of the month. So if you like the warmer temperatures, you’re going to be happy. If you don’t, fall is *only* 47 days away!
