As Summer Fades, Autumn Weather Arrives, First Freeze Possible This Weekend

Quick Solutions 7 Day Forecast

JAMESTOWN – Summer had a nice little staycation over the past several days but a big pattern flip is swinging us back into reality; the merry, merry month of October in which we are in.

The majority of the rain this morning has been tapering off from west to east today as a cold front comes on through. That front is also making our temperatures go the wrong direction.

Our official high was 70, which occurred at 3 AM this morning. Since then, temps have been on the decline, even though some limited peaks of sun have been poking through the cloud cover at times this afternoon.

Rain showers will continue in scattered nature really over the next seven days. It’s a traditional cool and wet fall pattern we often can see.

Our first frosts of the season will likely be Saturday morning and Sunday morning as temps are projected to dip into the upper 30s. The growing season will be coming to a close so make sure you cover any tender vegetation or bring them inside to prevent damage.

Red Raiders Football – Jamestown will be facing the McKinley Macks at at Macks Field in Buffalo Saturday afternoon. While there is a 20 percent chance of a couple rain showers through the game, the majority of the game should be dry.

However, it will be chilly! Temps will struggle to make it past 50 through the afternoon. Make sure you bring a sweater with you to the game. Go Raiders!
