ORCHARD PARK – The Buffalo Bills fell to 2-7 after losing to the Chicago Bears, 41-9, at New Era Field on Sunday.
The Bills ended a streak of 39 consecutive possessions without scoring a touchdown. Buffalo, however, finished with less than 10 points scored for the third consecutive game.
Bills QB Nathan Peterman completed 31-49 passes for only 189 yards and three interceptions. Peterman also led the team with 43 yards rushing and one touchdown.
Bills tailback LeSean McCoy was held to just 32 scrimmage yards on 15 touches.
Former quarterback-turned-tight end Logan Thomas led the Bills receiving corps with seven receptions for 40 yards.
Linebacker Julian Stanford led the Bills defense with eight tackles and one sack. Cornerback Tre’Davious White added an interception for the Bills secondary.
Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky finished with 135 yards and one touchdown pass to tight end Trey Burton.
Jordan Howard led the Bears rushing attack with 47 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns.
The Bears defense sacked Peterman four times, and scored two defensive touchdowns. Leonard Floyd had a 19-yard pick-six, and Eddie Jackson scored on a 65-yard fumble return.
Chicago’s Adrian Amos and Kyle Fuller also intercepted a pass.
Bears rookie linebacker Roquan Smith had a game-high 13 tackles. Danny Trevathan finished with 12 tackles.
The Bills next game will be at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets for a Veteran’s Day game next Sunday at 1 p.m.
