Police Respond to Shooting Incident and Motor Vehicle Crash

(WNY News Now) – In the early hours of Saturday, October 21, 2023, Syracuse Police officers were called to the intersection of North Salina Street and Court Street in response to a motor vehicle crash linked to a shooting incident.

Syracuse, NY – On the morning of October 21, 2023, at approximately 1:49 a.m., Syracuse Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Salina Street and Court Street following a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a victim who had been shot. Upon their arrival, officers found a 32-year-old male who claimed to have been shot while on Brace Street. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to his back and was subsequently transported to University Hospital by American Medical Response. Medical staff at University Hospital have indicated that the injuries sustained by the victim are not life-threatening.

Further investigation revealed that the incident took place in the 100 block of Brace Street, where multiple spent casings were recovered. The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
