BREAKING: Allegany County Murder Victim Suffered Fatal Gunshot Wound

CLARKSVILLE-Murder victim Royce A. Chapman, 57, suffered a fatal gunshot wound Wednesday morning at a house on County Rt. 40 according to New York State Police Capt. Jim Hall who spoke with reporters Thursday morning.

Lana M. Joseph, 51, and her son, Richard D. Mosher III, 26, each face a 2nd degree murder charge. Joseph allegedly had a prior relationship with Chapman.

The preliminary autopsy report indicated a homicide occurred per Hall. Chapman was reportedly discovered by a concerned family member early Wednesday.

Joseph and Mosher are both in Allegany County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond.

Second Degree Murder is the intentional causing of a person’s death according to New York State’s Penal Code.
