Area Fire Departments To Partake In Recruit NY Weekend

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY-A dozen volunteer fire departments will partake in Recruit NY, a effort to raise awareness for a shortage of fire volunteer’s county wide.

In the village of Falconer, officials will host an open house Sunday from 10 am-2pm at 115 Davis St. according to Department Vice President Lisa LaRusch.

LaRusch said the open house will be part of the statewide Recruit NY effort to educate citizens on the need for new members to continue strong Volunteer Departments.

A free BBQ and kid friendly activities will start at noon. Members will be on hand to provide demonstrations and will field questions.

Every attendee will be entered to win a raffle basket worth over $100. A boot drive donation will occur to assist the department in their effort to purchase a much needed Physio Life Pak 15 Heart Monitor.
