County Sales Tax To Remain At Eight Percent

MAYVILLE-The county sales tax will remain at eight percent after lawmakers approved a resolution this week to renew the county’s additional one percent sales tax.

Legislators raised the tax in 2015 from 7.5 to 8 percent. County Executive Vince Horrigan said the rise helped fill a $6 million structural deficit in the budget.
