BEMUS POINT-An assistant professor of biology at the State University at Fredonia held a presentation Tuesday discussing the algae in Chautauqua Lake, specifically her research into the blue-green algae which in past years has caused numerous problems for lakeside residents and boaters alike.

Dr. Courtney Wigdahl-Perry told WNYNewsNow that she can’t say the algae problem is getting worse but it doesn’t seem to be getting better either.
