Sheriff: Charges May Be Filed Against A Man Whose Vehicle Struck A Tree



MAYVILLE- The Chautauqua County Sheriffs said charges are pending for a Stockton man who lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree head-on.

Authorities said James Gelencser, 51, was traveling eastbound on East Chautauqua St. when he unexpectedly lost control of his vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic before hitting a tree at New York State’s Department of Transportation facility.

Gelenscer suffered serious injuries from the engine and steering wheel being pushed into the driver’s compartment.



He was transferred to Hamot Hospital in Erie where he’s listed in serious condition.
