BROCTON-The 15-year-old boy who was struck by a car while riding his bicycle on Rt. 20 this week was pronounced legally deceased with no brain function Thursday morning at Hamot Hospital according to Erie County (PA) Coroner Lyell P. Cook.

Cook told WNYNewsNow Friday the decision occurred at 2:35 AM. The coroner said he’s not exactly sure what will happen next for the boy.

“My office is no longer involved (with the boy’s case),” Cook said. “Generally, the body is placed on a respirator to retrieve organs.”
