Fire Chief Recovering From Friday Evening Accident

JAMESTOWN-A City Fire Chief is recovering Monday from injuries he sustained during a vehicle accident Friday evening. 

Battalion Chief Matthew Coon confirmed to WNYNewsNow that the accident took place as the fire department was responding to another incident in the city.

Coon encourages the general public to be aware at all times if they hear sirens and see lights.

Coon said JFD will conduct an internal investigation into the incident. The other driver is expected to survive.
