JAMESTOWN-The wife of a pastor whose church burnt down last December says she expects The First Church of God to be rebuilt by next June.

“There’s been a lot of change, from burning, to a hole in the ground, to nothing, and now it’s starting to look like a building,” said DeeAnn Lee, the wife of Pastor Mervin Lee.

Lee says the church has received tons of prayers and support from the community.

Although there’s no set date for the grand opening of the new church, Lee says the weather has been great. They expect to reopen next summer.

Despite all the turmoil, the church will host the very popular “Trunk or Treat”  Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

“We haven’t had any sad moments,” Lee said. “God has been amazing and people have been so supportive.”
