Popup Showers And Storms Through The Afternoon, Much Cooler End To The Week

Quick Solutions 7 Day Forecast

JAMESTOWN – It’s another tropical-like day out there with oppressive humidity and the “thunderstorm lottery.” But relief is on the way.

With the sunshine we’ve had early this afternoon and the high humidity in the air, that will fuel widely scattered showers and thunderstorms through this afternoon. You know the deal with these; these kind of storms popup at random times and we cannot tell you when or where it will rain. Just be aware you may dodge a few rain stops at times. All of this activity should go to bed for the night once the sun goes down.

A strong Cold front will moves through Western New York tomorrow and not only bring us the better chance for some widespread showers and storms, but the temperatures (and the humidity!) will be knocked down as well.

Tropical Update: Gordon made landfall near the Alabama/Mississippi State line at around 11PM last night as a strong Tropical Storm with 70 MPH winds. Gordon is now a weaker Tropical Depression with it’s center of circulation over Jackson, MS, but heavy rain continues across the Florida Panhandle and Alabama.

The potential is still on the table to catch some tropical rain showers Sunday and Monday, as the remnant Low moves through the Ohio River Valley. The exact timing is still an issue and something we will need to fine-tune through the reminder of the week.
