WARREN – A Pittsfield (Pa.) woman accused of stealing prescribed medication from numerous residents at a Warren nursing home is currently awaiting plea court, according to court documents obtained by WNYNewsNow Wednesday morning.
Kellie A. Gentz, 30, faces charges of acquiring controlled substances, five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, neglect of care of a dependent person, simple assault, theft by unlawfully taking a moving prop and recklessly endangering another person.
Gentz is scheduled to have a formal arraignment Thursday. After that, she’s scheduled to appear for a settlement conference on Jan. 14, 2019.
In felony cases, a Felony Settlement Conference (FSC) is set following the arraignment. An FSC is similar to a TRC and consists of exchanging discovery (information about the case) and attempting to negotiate a disposition. If the attorneys are unable to resolve the case then a Preliminary Hearing date is set.
A calendar call is scheduled on Jan. 28, 2019. A calendar call is a courtroom procedure in which the judge or a court officer calls out the names of the cases on the calendar, is advised by the parties or their lawyers whether they are ready to proceed, and, if they are, sets a date for trial.
Plea court, meanwhile, is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2019.
Gentz is currently in Warren County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
