CLYMER – A championship victory, at the surface, is an impressive accomplishment. One must consider the required work to reach a championship game, much less win.

Brynne Hinsdale and Kyle Hinsdale, parents of starting quarterback, junior Garrett Hinsdale, said they’re very happy to see his son win a championship as Clymer/Sherman/Panama defeated the Moriah Vikings, 26-6, for the Class D Football Championship Friday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

“It’s all very surreal. He’s wanted this for a long time,” Brynne Hinsdale said. “I am so happy that he gets to experience this really amazing thing with his team.”

Both Brynne and Kyle Hinsdale detailed how their son, as well as the team, sacrificed an entire year to achieve success. With Garrett, his parents have traveled extensively to support their son.

“It’s whether it’s Garrett or the rest of the team, they spend all summer working out, whether it’d be in the weight room, or getting training during the summer on a certain technique or going to camp, or seven-on-seven with the coaches during the summer,” Garrett Hinsdale said. “It’s almost a year round sport anymore.”

“We’ve been all over the place, with our son in particular, but we just want to support him. He loves football. It’s his favorite thing,” Brynne Hinsdale said. “We do what we can do, and help him out where ever we can, and give him and the team all the support they can get in any way.

Kyle Hinsdale said the first thing he’ll tell his son is that he’s very of the work he’s done.
