BUSTI – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported that, early Saturday morning, they assisted Pennsylvania State Police in a stabbing investigation.

State Police reportedly told the Sheriff’s Office that two males had been involved in an altercation in Sugar Grove, with one male stabbing the other before fleeing into the Town of Busti.

Patrols reportedly located the suspect on foot along Hoag Road, and they were advised that the suspect may have discarded the knife used in the stabbing somewhere along the road.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s K9 Link was deployed on an evidence search along Hoag Road. K9 Link’s search led into a wooded area about 100 yards from the roadway, where Link did locate the knife in question.

The male stabbing victim was transported to Hamot Medical Center in serious condition. Charges are pending from Pennsylvania State Police for the suspect.
