MAYVILLE – A Stockton man plead guilty Thursday to second-degree rape in Chautauqua County Court.

A court clerk told WNYNewsNow that Leland Bresee is facing six months of incarceration (already served while awaiting trial) and 10 years of probation.

In addition, Bresee has been released from custody, according to the clerk.

Bresee was originally indicted on a charge of first-degree rape (predatory sexual assault against a child). The trial began Tuesday after a lengthy jury selection process.

Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson declined comment when reached Thursday afternoon.
