WASHINGTON – Although it is very early in the 2020 election process, Real Clear Politics is reporting that the current front-runner for the Democratic nomination is former Vice President Joe Biden.

In a wide open field that continues to grow, Biden garners 30.5 percent, with former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders running second with 17 percent.

Biden’s strength among Democrats shows in that the poll shows he would, if the election were held now, beat President Donald Trump by 53 to 41 percent.

The rest of the field is scattered and none of them seem to be gaining on Biden and Sanders, although it is still very early in the process.

California Sen. Kamala Harris has 11.5 percent, just ahead of Mass. Sen. Elizabeth Warren with 9.5 percent.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker polls at 4 percent and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobucher has 3 percent. Sen. Sherrod Brown has 2.5 percent. Former HUD Secretary and former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro has 1.5 percent.

Polling at less than one percent are Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former W. Va. State Sen. Richard Ojeda, former tech executive Andrew Yang and New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. Maryland Rep. John Delaney also is at less than one percent.

  1. Biden beating Trump poll is just about as accurate as the 2016 polls that showed Hillary was going to win by a landslide! I know many people who on the Trump Train and I know no one who has been polled! #TRUMP2020
