Russell Payne Seeks Carroll Town Supervisor Post

FREWSBURG – Town of Carroll resident Russell Payne is running for Town of Carroll Supervisor.

Payne, who served as Supervisor from 1998 to 2000, announced his candidacy on his Facebook page, saying he is “and always has been devoted to the people of the Town of Carroll. That’s what being a political candidate is all about.”

A life-long town resident, Payne said he has more than 50 years of experience in law enforcement at the local level, state and federal government and education.

Among his goals are to improve the business district, improve the town park infrastructure, fight for transparency in local government and work to deal with vacant properties in the town, such as the former Vac Air Alloys and Ethan Allen properties.

Payne said he will use his “intense dedication, passion and devotion” to fight for change and safeguard the rights and quality of life Carroll residents deserve.

Payne, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is a member of Carroll Concerned Citizens and has fought against the implementation of a landfill in the town for the last 15 years.
