HUME – Two Allegany County residents are facing charges after New York State Police said they made marijuana brownies in the presence of children on Monday.

Brent A. Makowski, 25, and Jacob W. Pomeroy, 23, both of Fillmore, are charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Makowski is additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Troopers responded to a report of people making marijuana brownies in the presence of children at a residence on West Main Street in the Hamlet of Fillmore.

Investigators said they observed a dinner plate of marijuana within several feet of two children while visiting the house.

Police said Makowski and Pomeroy were arrested, transported to State Police Fillmore’s Barracks and released with appearance tickets for Hume Town Court later this month.
