WASHINGTON – A new study is suggesting tens of thousands of Americans get cancer because they don’t eat right.

It says poor diet caused an estimated 80,000 new cancer cases in 2015.

Researchers say cancer risks have been associated with not eating enough whole grains and diary products. As well as eating too much processed meat and red meat in general.

Colon and Rectal Cancers are the most common linked to poor diet. African Americans and Latinos along with men who are 45 to 64 years old are most likely to be affected.

The study was published in the journal JNCI Cancer Spectrum on Wednesday.
