
UPDATE @ 12:15 p.m.: Sheriff officials said the 911 outage that affected the Ellington and Frewsburg areas has been fixed. All landlines are able to call 911 again.
UPDATE @ 11:10 a.m.: The 911 outage reported earlier for the Ellington area (287 exchange) is also affecting the Frewsburg area (569 exchanges). This is affecting 911 calls from landline phones. Residents can call 911 from their cell phones or 753-2131, in an emergency.
ELLINGTON – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 911 services are not working in the Ellington area Thursday morning.
Sheriff officials said landline phones in that area are unable to call 911 due to a technical problem. Anyone in the area with a landline phone who has an emergency can use their cell phone or should call the Sheriff’s Office directly at 716-753-2131.
Officials said they are working with phone companies to resolve the problem.
