Western New York Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management reports members of their team found the grass-like Water Chestnut growing along the bank just downstream of the Carlson’s Boat Livery.

Officials said the team removed two grocery bags of the plant and disposed of its remains at a trash receptacle at McCrea Point Park.

The group is now urging the public to be vigilant of the aggressive aquatic invasive species.
