BUSTI – A man killed in a motor vehicle crash involving a commercial semi-truck last week will be honored for his work with the Busti Fire Department this weekend.

James A. Ellis, 63, was a 17-year member of the volunteer department.

Busti Fire Officials say a parade will take place Saturday starting at 1:40 p.m. with vehicles and personnel lining up at 1 p.m.

A celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Busti Fire Department.

Fire officials said anyone who would like to attend the event in support of family and friends is encouraged to do so.

Ellis died in a motor vehicle crash last Wednesday. Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say his semi-truck was struck by a pickup that failed to stop at a stop sign on Magnolia-Stedman Road and entered Rt. 394 in the Town of North Harmony.

The pickup truck driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ellis was also part owner of Busti Lime Service Inc. Arrangements will be announced by the Lind Funeral Home later this week.
