FALCONER – Congressman Tom Reed says he is looking forward to hearing from residents during an upcoming town hall meeting in Falconer.

Reed says he uses the meetings to listen to the community outside from the normal letters and phone calls his office receives.

“It is amazing to me when I tell fellow members what we do and they often scoff at me and say, ‘why do you do that, why do drive the district six hours back and forth, and stop at the various places that we stop,’ and I say because you got to be in the communities, got to understand what people are dealing with, and you never know, people will often say something and then it’s like, maybe we can help,” explained Reed.

He said some of the big topics residents bring up are the impeachment inquiry, the Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement and cost of health care; specifically prescription drugs.

The town hall will take place Thursday night at the Ellicott Town Hall Building, 215 South Work St., from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
