JAMESTOWN – Residents in Jamestown woke up to around 3.5 inches of snow from one of the season’s first lake effect storms overnight.

Some drivers on North Main Street in Downtown Jamestown had trouble getting up the hill.

Jamestown Fire Fighters were called to 19 Johnson St. just after 3 a.m. for a person with frozen feet.

Outside the city, fire police were dispatched to the scene of a multiple vehicle crash on Hunt Road near Mall Boulevard in Lakewood.

A Winter Weather Advisory for Lake Effect Snow called for 4 to 6 inches of snow in higher terrain and 1 to 3 inches across lower elevations.

Forecasters expect any leftover lake snow to cut out, clearing to mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies for the rest of the day.

Sunday, temperatures are expected to be much “warmer” with highs in the mid 40’s.

The area could see more snow early next week as temps dip into the upper 20s.
