PORTLAND – The investigation into a crash between a New York State Thruway Authority Snowplow and tractor-trailer has concluded.

New York State Police say on Tuesday a state snowplow that was treating the road on Interstate 90 in the Town of Portland was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer.

Troopers said the impact caused both vehicles to crash through the guide rail and into a ditch .

The plow truck, operated by Alex Buss, 26, of Westfield and Brant Henning, 36, of Sherman, had its amber lights running at the time of the crash.

Police said the tractor-trailer’s driver, Marvin Stacy, 49, Springfield, Ohio, had to be extricated from the truck’s cab. He was flown to Hamot Medical Center where he is now in stable condition.

Troopers said Stacy was later issued multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

The plow’s operators were taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
