JAMESTOWN – Jamestown High School students, Madeline DeJoy, Meghan Mistretta and Greta Nordwall were recently selected to participate in the Junior High Area All-State Music Festival.

School officials say the trio were chosen based upon their excellent solo performance at the NYSSMA Solo Festival, which gathers the best junior high musicians in the region to participate.

“JHS Band Director Meghan Murray and I are so proud of these dedicated young ladies,” said Katie Derrenbacher, JHS Orchestra Director. “They have gone above and beyond to prepare for this particular music festival and have served as shining examples of Jamestown and our music program. Their accomplishment shows what hard work and perseverance can achieve.”

DeJoy plays the french horn, Mistretta the violin and Nordwall the flute.
