Firefighters Use Pet Oxygen Masks To Save Family Pets From Blaze

DUNKIRK – Firefighters in the City of Dunkirk used pet oxygen masks to save family pets following a fire Sunday night.

The fire happened just after 7:30 p.m. in the living room of 414 Mullet St.

When crews arrived on scene, all occupants of the residence were outside the home. One of the residents was taken to Brooks Hospital for treatment.





The family pets, one cat and one dog, were rescued from the home by firefighters.

Crews used a Pet Resuscitation mask donated by a citizen to help the animals breath.

The American Red Cross is now providing assistance to the residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.





















The cat and dog were taken to the Forestville Animal Hospital for further treatment.
