JAMESTOWN – A Downtown Jamestown bakery is celebrating its one-year anniversary this weekend.

Andrea Latona, owner of Full Moon Rising Bakery, 122 E. 3rd St., says on Saturday at 1 p.m. her staff is inviting the community to attend a celebration with free samples of cake.

Latona says the festivities will continue all weekend long, with special milkshakes on Sunday.

“We put a whole cupcake inside the milkshake, there is one on top of the milkshake, whip cream, whatever we think that goes with that flavor, is piled on top,” explained Latona.

In addition to several flavors introduced in the past, Latona’s crew is introducing a new strawberry cheesecake milkshake for the occasion.

Latona’s bakery not only provides custom milkshakes and traditional desert items, but custom creations.

“I am not a baker, I am an art school dropout,” said Latona. “The cookies are really just a canvas that I paint on with icing.”

Latona says she cannot take all the credit for her business success, and that she is grateful for help from her family, friends and team.

In January, Latona was presented with the Young Businessperson of the Year Award by the Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce.
