JAMESTOWN – Our stretch of sunny weather has abruptly come to an end with moisture surging in from the south. We’ll maintain a chance for a few scattered showers through the Memorial Day weekend with summer-like warmth.

The high pressure that has been “rex blocking” an area of low pressure to our south has started to break down and move off the Atlantic east coast allowing a pathway for moisture from that system to surge northward. While temperatures will still be seasonal to above average, the humidity will be spiking throughout the week as well.

A few scattered showers will be possible throughout the afternoon with mostly cloudy to overcast skies. It will be cooler near the immediate Lake Erie shoreline due to an onshore northwest wind. Highs 65 lakeshore, 73 inland.

Scattered showers will become a little more more numerous overnight with possibly a rumble of thunder or two. Patchy fog will develop overnight manly in the Allegheny River Valley. Lows 52 to 58.

While the day on Saturday and Sunday will be manly dry, there all be the chance for a few scattered and pop up showers and maybe a thunderstorm through the afternoon. Highs mid to upper 70’s.

Memorial Day will not be a total washout with partial sunshine at times. Feeling muggy with highs near 80.

We all stay quite warm and muggy through late next week with scatted shower chances almost each day and highs in the lower to mid 80’s.
