JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities are warning its customers of recently reported phone scams.

In the first scam, BPU officials say someone calls offering the customer rebates and, in order to receive it, the customer must supply personal and bank information.

In the second scam, the caller says they are from the “electric company” in Jamestown and offers 30% off rates.

The company says neither of these scams are legitimate calls and customers are warned not to give personal information over the telephone.
