
MAYVILLE – Eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Chautauqua County on Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 286.
County health officials say the new cases involve two men in their 20s, a woman in her 30s, a man in his 40s, a man and woman in their 50s, a woman in her 60s, and a man in his 70s.
There are now 19 cases active, with one person hospitalized.
Additionally, there are 80 people under quarantine or isolation orders by the Public Health Director and being monitored.
Officials say not all of those being monitored are confirmed to have COVID-19 but have either shown symptoms, are awaiting results, or have risk factors.
There are also 965 people under domestic traveler quarantine for having arrived to Chautauqua County from a state listed on the New York State travel advisory.
Since the outbreak began, 258 people have recovered and 9 people have died from the virus.
