JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown City Council will vote on a resolution authorizing a Parking Ticket Amnesty Program during its September Work Session Monday evening.

The resolution calls for the amnesty to be for all license plate numbers that currently owe monies for parking violations to the City of Jamestown, except for those license plates under current SCOFFLAW hold by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

In addition, the resolution says the program will allow the accumulated principal amount to be paid to the City Treasurer’s Office in full satisfaction of the obligation to the City of Jamestown during the time period October 1, 2020 – October 31, as long as the individual brings to City Hall a donation of either school supplies, canned goods, or items for the elderly.

The completion of the Parking Ticket Amnesty Program will allow all unpaid charges to revert back to the principal and appropriate penalty amounts.
