JAMESTOWN – The search for a missing 3-year-old boy in Jamestown has ended after he was found safe sleeping in the apartment complex where he lives.

Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson tells WNYNewsNow that the boy was found during a second walkthrough of the property at 742 E. 2nd St.

Samuelson says the investigation is ongoing, but police do not suspect foul play.

The child went missing just after 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

First responders were canvassing from the area of E. 2nd and Cheney Streets to Crescent and Winsor Streets.

The child was believed to be wearing a blue jacket with underwear and did not have any shoes on.

He resides with his mother on E. 2nd Street and his father lives in Frewsburg.
