JAMESTOWN – Unlike the wet and windy Halloween we had last year, this Halloween will be quiet and dry although chilly.

For Today, early morning clouds will lead to some afternoon sunshine with highs in the mid to upper-40’s.

If you plan on taking kids Trick-or-Treating this evening there will be no issues weather wise. Mainly clear skies tonight with highs around 40 in the evening dropping into the low to mid-30’s overnight.

An upper-level trough passes the region on Sunday, returning the clouds and rain showers to the region as we flip the calander into November. It will be  breezy with highs tomorrow in the upper-40’s.

A cold front plows by the area Sunday evening with cold air rushing in behind it. Left over widespread rain will transition over to snow showers in the evening before tapering off.

The cold air will generate a lake response of what seems to be a moderate strength lake effect snow band Sunday night into Monday morning. As of now moderate snow accumulations will be likely across the Western Southern-tier and the highest elavations. Several inches will be possible with blowing snow likely. Outside these bands cloudy skies with lows Sunday night in the mid-20’s.

Off and on rain and snow showers likely for Monday, otherwise it will be cloudy with highs in the upper-30’s.

High pressure and a southernly flow will take place by mid-week, allowing for a return of the sunshine and temperatures near 60.
