JAMESTOWN – The warm air is gone but the sun will be making a return throughout the remainder of the week with the weekend a toss-up based on your day of choice.

On the heels of a cold front that has swept through, temperatures throughout the afternoon on Wednesday have been going the opposite direction. The cooler air will stay with us throughout the rest of the week but with high pressure retuning back into the northeast bringing us a great deal of sunshine. As another trough digs into the region early next week, temperatures will fall below average with some rain and wet snow possible by Tuesday.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies will take us through the night tonight. Chiller. Lows 35 in the valleys, 44 at the Lake Erie shoreline.

Lots of sunshine walk take us through the day on Thursday with seasonable temperatures. Highs 46 to 54.

The sun will be out in good supply on Friday with highs 47 to 56.

Saturday will be the pick day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies although it will be cooler. Highs go down into the lower to mid 40’s.

A deep trough will advance towards the region with impeding Cold front on Sunday. This will create some scattered rain showers from time to time throughout the day. Highs in the mid 50’s.

After the frontal passage, the trough will start to dig into the Great Lakes which will nit only bring a better chance for more scattered to widespread showers on Monday but bring another surge of cooler air along with it. Monday highs in the lower 40’s.

As the colder air continues to surge in, we may see some pockets of wintry mix on Tuesday which could end up being all wet snow along the higher elevations. However, any wet snow will be determined on how much colder air we have to work with. We’ll keep you updated as we progress through the next several days.
