JAMESTOWN – Six seniors on the Jamestown High School fall varsity sports teams qualified as Section VI Scholar Athletes, with Drew Carlson being named overall winner.

Carlson is on the cross country team.

Honorable mention awards went to: Joseph Dahlgren (Boys Soccer); Julissa Navarro (Girls Soccer); Sophia Simons (Swimming); Claire Pumford (Swimming) and Madison Smith (Girls Tennis).

“Being named to the All-Western New York Academic Team is a special honor,” said Jamestown Public Schools Athletic Director, Ben Drake. “These young men and women truly epitomize what the term, student-athlete, means. Not only are they great athletes, but these seniors also maintained an overall grade point average of 90 percent or higher during their four years at JHS. They are great role models for our younger athletes and we are all very proud of them.”
