SALAMANCA – The search for a missing Salamanca man with autism ended after police found the 18-year-old in the Rochester area.

The City of Salamanca Police Department tells WNY News Now Zavier Botsford was located by New York State Police.


Botsford, police say, was taken home and reunited with his mother.

The young man was first reported missing on Sunday night by his family.

At the time officers believed he was in need of medical attention.











Police are still working to learn exactly why he left home.

SALAMANCA – Police in Salamanca are looking for a missing vulnerable adult with autism.



The City of Salamanca Police Department tells WNY News Now 18-year-old Zavier Botsford was last seen on East Jefferson Street around 9 p.m. Sunday in Salamanca.

Botsford is 6′ 04,” around 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last wearing a green sweatshirt, jeans and black work boots.

Police believe he is driving a white 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with New York registration KGR-2581. Officers do not have a suspected direction of travel at this time.

The man may also be in need of medical attention, police say.
