JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will start their main flushing campaign next week.

Officials with the utility company say pre-flushing starts on Friday, April 30 at 1 p.m. in the Village of Falconer.

Areas of Aldren, Ralph, Mapleshade and Valmeere Streets will be impacted.

The entire Village of Falconer will be flushed from 8 p.m. Saturday, May 1st, overnight into Sunday, May 2nd, until all of the system is entirely cleaned out.

During flushing, water may be discolored on the north side of Jamestown as well as in the Village.

Flushing of the remaining system will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 3rd through the 7th and May 10th through the 12th.

The exception will be on Wednesday, May 5th, when flushing will take place from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate downtown and Fairmount Avenue businesses and restaurants.

Flushing that day could affect streets directly off Fairmount Avenue and Route 394.

A two-page color-coded map showing which areas will be flushed on specific days is posted online at JamestownBPU.com.
