ANGOLA – Upgrades to the Angola Travel Plaza will get underway later this month.
New York State’s Thruway Authority announced the news on Wednesday.
The agency says a $450 million project to redevelop the 27 service areas across the state is part of the initiative.
The service areas were first built in 1950, with the last update in the 1990s.
On July 29, 10 service areas will close for the first phase of construction. Fuel services will remain open during the renovation process.
Among the upgrades, the Thruway Authority says, is adding new food options to include healthy meals and other nationally recognized restaurants including, Shake Shack, Panera, Popeyes, Chick-fil-A and Starbucks, just to name a few.
