ERIE, Pa. / JAMESTOWN, NY – Erie News Now and WNY News Now are strengthening their news gathering resources by partnering together.

WICU and WSEE general manager Pam Forsyth, Erie News Now news director Scott MacDowell and WNY News Now news director Justin Gould made the announcement on Monday.

The two newsrooms have already shared material in a limited fashion, however going forward the news organizations will share exclusive content between their digital and on-air platforms to bring added content and value to the viewers in both communities.

“I am super excited for what’s to come with our new partnership,” said Gould in a statement. “Erie News Now will help WNY News Now take our product to the next level, sure there is a value for what we do now, however airing our reports on traditional television only expands the eyeballs.”

“Additionally, Erie News Now is connecting us with additional resources that will improve our news product, furthered Gould. “For example, we are now able to access their Washington D.C. bureau, providing additional coverage of our local representatives and what they are doing in the nation’s capital.”

Viewers will not only see the benefits of this partnership on television and online, but also will also hear it on the radio in Warren, Pennsylvania, on Lilly Broadcasting-owned 92 Gold and 104.3 Kinzua Country where WNY News Now will provide daily news reports.
