WESTFIELD – The man wanted for burglarizing a hunting cabin in the Town of Westfield has been taken into custody.

The Chautaqua County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old James Gnacinski, of Girard PA, was arrested on Thursday afternoon.

Deputies were called burglary in progress to a hunting camp on Rt. 394 in the Town of Westfield around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies allege Gnacinski fled from the location just prior to their arrival. A major search was conducted of a very large vast wooded area, but investigators called off the search following sunset.

During the search, man’s coat was found by a Sheriff K9 that contained a Pennsylvania Drivers License. A short time later a vehicle was found stuck on a well road nearby the house in question and this car was registered to Gnacinski on the driver license found.

Gnacinski was held in county jail as a fugitive from justice and will likely face several charges related to the alleged burglary.
