LITTLE VALLEY – Law enforcement in Cattaraugus County are warning of a rise in scam phone calls.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports it has recently received several complaints from residents of fraudulent Amazon.com calls.

Specifically, deputies say callers indicate there is a problem with a recent online order and are asking for the customer’s information to verify their account.

The scammers are calling from what appears to be a local number.

The Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone not to share personal info, like Social Security numbers, usernames or passwords, over the phone or via e-mail to someone you do not know.
