Pre-Dawn Traffic Stop in Chautauqua Leads to DWI Arrest

Chautauqua, NY (WNY News Now) – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Elm Flats Rd in the Town of Chautauqua during the early hours of August 7th, resulting in the arrest of the vehicle’s operator Candice Polvino (37) of Brocton on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI).

On August 7th around 02:38 AM the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office executed a traffic stop on Elm Flats Rd in the Town of Chautauqua. The vehicle’s operator identified as Candice Polvino (37) of Brocton was brought under scrutiny during the stop.

Upon closer investigation, law enforcement officers discovered that Polvino was driving under the influence of alcohol, leading to her immediate arrest. The charges brought against her include DWI, DWI per se, and the additional offense of having no or inadequate plate lamps on the vehicle.


She was later released with appearance tickets in the Town of Chautauqua Court.
