Gas Prices Continue To Fall

WESTERN NEW YORK – The price of gas continues to fall as we head into the new year. The price of an average gallon of gas is around $2.59 in Jamestown.

That is around six cents lower than the regional average of $2.65. The average dropped four cents since last week.

Experts report low fuel prices are a bright spot for motorists but result from global economic problems.

The price of oil is showing that investors fear a long slump in price. Economic worries are overpowering any effect from the production cuts announced last week by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
